How do we learn to love people but not say yes to everything they want us to do. Sometimes we need to say no for the good of other people.

Sometimes we have to say no for our own essential good.

Sometimes we have to say no for both the good of the other person and ourselves.

But how do we handle the disappointment and even rejection we feel when we try to say no.

Setting healthy boundaries is an essential part of healthy relationships.

We have to have use our right to say no to requests that we really don’t want to say yes to when people ask us to do things. It is important to know how to set proper boundaries in a healthy way.

As Brene Brown says

“When we fail to set boundaries and hold people accountable, we feel used and mistreated. This is why we sometimes attack who they are, which is far more hurtful than addressing a behavior or a choice.”
― Brené Brown, The Gifts of Imperfection: Let Go of Who You Think You’re Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are

Dr. Norman Wise will explain what boundaries in relationships are, practical ways to set boundaries, how to handle it when boundaries are violated, and how to avoid feeling guilty about saying “no” to a person you love. The teaching will be practical, biblical, and balanced.

The seminar is free and open to the public.
