[Psa 1:1-3 NLT] 1 Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. 2 But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night. 3 They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.

Most of the time when we think of the word “meditation” we think of Eastern religion since that is one of their main practices.
However there is a biblical or Hebrew approach to meditation which is spoken about a lot in the Psalms and which should be part of the spiritual disciplines of Christian disciples.
This type of meditation is not focused on emptying the mind so it is blank, but filling the mind with what is good, noble, and praise worth.
Dr. Norman Wise first began researching Christian Meditation in 1973 in response to a friend asking questions about Eastern Meditation. That was when he found all the passages speaking about meditation but from a different perspective than most Eastern meditation.
